Privacy Policy
Last updated July 4, 2026
NextNine is a golf scoring app built to be fast, private, and honest about your data. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have. It is written plainly on purpose.
Your rounds live on your device
NextNine is local-first. The rounds you score, your scorecards, and the stats derived from them are stored in your browser on the device you use to play. You can use the app, keep score, and review your rounds without an account and without that data ever leaving your device.
Accounts and sync (optional)
If you choose to create an account, you sign in with Google. We receive your name and email address from Google to create and identify your account, and nothing else from your Google profile. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Once you are signed in, your rounds and stats sync to our servers so you can restore them on another device. That backup is tied to your account and is never shown to other users.
Usage analytics
Because the app is local-first, we cannot see whether it is working for people unless the app tells us. To measure that, we collect a small set of product-analytics events. For example: the app was opened, a round was started, finished, or abandoned, an account was created, a sync ran, an invite was shared, or feedback was sent.
Each event carries an anonymous device identifier and basic technical context (the screen you were on, the app version, and general device type). If you have an account, events are linked to your account id. We use this only to understand whether people can actually capture their rounds. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Feedback and bug reports
When you send feedback or report a bug from within the app, we collect the text you write plus context we capture automatically to help us fix things: the screen you were on, the app version, your device type, and your user id if you are signed in. These reports go to our private issue tracker.
Your data is yours
You can export all of your rounds and stats at any time from Settings, as a CSV or JSON file. You can also delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting an account removes your synced rounds and account records from our servers and clears your data from the device you delete it on.
